Here is a fantastic article titled Champion of the Clean by Dan John, Master RKC. Kettlebell cleans can be a very frustrating movement to learn for a beginner so Dan John offers the following very useful tip:

Try to stress something I call “Quiet Elbows.” You can also use the term “Small Elbows” or really anything you want to teach the movement as a Swing followed by a Rack with very little flair or movement from the elbows.
